Been a minute!

So much has happened in the past 15 years! Nothing is the same as it was when I was Mommyblogging. As much as I loved that time, I've also loved all the times between then and now. My kids are grown (and turned out well...what a RELIEF!) We spent three years researching immigration in the USA, another three training new missionaries to go out across Latin America and the world, yet another three in England working alongside some truly amazing national Christians, and we're now in Central Florida! I've deconstructed and (mostly) reconstructed, with all that that involves (IYKYK).
While we were in Richmond at mission headquarters, I fell in love with the business world. So, I went back to school and got my Ph.D. in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. I'm now an independent consultant, but most of my time is spent looking for a job.
I have a businessey blog here and a Substack here (same content). I'll probably have a website soon for those topics. But I don't have anywhere for the other thoughts to go. You know, the thoughts on God and church, sociological observations, unsolicited advice I wish I could deliver, and stuff I learned the hard way. I've also been writing academic-ese for so long (4 years) that writing in my own voice is difficult (Grammarly is FURIOUS with me right now!).  So, those thoughts have to go somewhere; for now, they'll go here.
It's good to see you again. Thanks for landing!

PS—The blog needs a new name since I'm now Mom (not Mommy), and I'm no longer an M.
